happyelfblue asks: I have a medical problem. I know I have parasites in my body, and it’s really freaking me out. I have intestine/stomach pains. I’m also ALWAYS hungry, even If I eat. I feel tired and dizzy occasionally, and I can always feel something crawling up my leg as if something is rubbing my leg internally. My parents are both doctors, and they don’t believe me. I’m 100% sure I’m right, I’ve spent hours on the net researching causes and cures like lemon (but some things like ‘wormwood’ I don’t have). I’m really scared that in a few years I’ll have a serious problem like internal bleeding. I’ve tried everything and I’ve come to this forum as a last resort.
Hi happyelfblue –
As I often express here, I’m only a dog. And I’m certainly not a psychic. I can’t tell anything about anything other than what I’ve been written by you folks.
Given that, I have no way of knowing whether you really have parasites, or a psychological condition like Ekbom’s syndrome (here’s a good link about that: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delusional_parasitosis), or some other problem.
But here’s what I do know: you need to get to a good doctor, right away. Maybe your parents are too closely involved with you to be the right ones to consult, so another one would be a better idea. And when I say the word “doctor,” that doesn’t mean it has to be an M.D. You could also talk with someone who works on a more energetic level (like an acupuncturist, chiropractor, or homeopath) to see if they can help in some way.
But if whatever doctors you see find no evidence of parasites hurting you, happyelfblue, it may well be that you have a psychiatric condition, like Ekbom’s. If that’s the case, it’s nothing for you to be ashamed of – it just means that you’re correct about having a health problem; it’s just not the problem you thought you had. If this is the case, what you need is to find a psychiatrist who is trained in this sort of disorder. It’s a rare enough problem that it might take some work to find such a doctor, but the best way is to find one good psychiatrist and ask them to help you find an expert on this.
Whatever is actually wrong, my friend, you’re in some serious misery. And what we want is to get you past that, and helped to a new place in your life where you can be happier and healthier.
Good luck with it. Please let me know how it goes.
Shirelle
