What are some good fun-reading books for teenagers?

sazuna45 asks: I’m getting really bored in vacation so I want some good books to read. Any suggestions? (Except books I have already read like: Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Twilight, The Hunger Games, A Thousand Splendid Suns, The Kite Runner, Emma, Rebecca, Pride and Prejudice, Wuthering Heights, David Copperfield, Ella Enchanted, Tom Sawyer, Moon and Sun Tales, etc.) Please! Any help will be appreciated!

Wow sazuna45!  You’ve read all those books already?

My inclination, based on what you’ve sent me before, is that you might enjoy some good poetry, especially of a romantic nature.  Have you ever read any Emily Dickinson?  You might really love her stuff.  Also, one of Handsome’s favorite all-time writers was Edgar Allan Poe, who wrote beautiful sad love poems, as well as lots of the greatest scary stories ever penned.

I have a few ideas of novels, though, based on what you wrote.  Have you ever read “Jane Eyre,” by the sister of the author of “Wuthering Heights?”  Very dark and romantic – you might like that.  And I don’t know the “Golden Compass” books, but people sure do love them, as well as the “Game of Thrones” series.

One book Handsome just adores, that might be great for you, is “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime.”  Despite its title (and yours truly recommending it to you), it’s not really about a dog.  It’s a murder mystery, told from the perspective of a boy with autism.  It’s fascinating and really cool – I think you might like it a lot.

Anyway, see if any of those work.  And if you want me to recommend more, let me know more about what kind of books you especially enjoy, and maybe that’ll get my wheels turning!

Cheers,
Shirelle
