Hi! Thanks for dropping in!
My name is Shirelle. I’m a Husky-Saluki mix, which is a fancy way of saying I’m a pretty big dog.
I live with a person, and, like all dogs, I think my human friend is the best-smelling, best-looking person in the world. So, since I don’t know his official name, I just call him Handsome.
I set this website up because I have spent my whole life watching people I love have problems, and wanting to help them out.
Some people ask me why a dog is at all qualified to talk to humans about what’s going on in their lives. Well, let me ask you this: When a family has a conflict, like when there’s an argument or a disagreement going on, who’s the only one in the household who sees everyone’s side equally, and always loves everyone just the same? The dog, right?
And even more fun: In good times as well as difficult, who’s the only one who can hear what’s said behind closed doors?! Hmmm?
That’s right: Me! So I know what’s going on!
I see how tough it can be sometimes to be a person. But also — like other dogs, and kids, and teens and grownups and (I know this is hard to believe) like parents — I love to live my life to the fullest. So the main reason for this website is that I want to help people get past their blocks that keep them from doing just that.
So see what you think. Feel free to send me any questions you have, or just to whistle and tell me what you think (or send me an ear-scratch, I love it my ears get scratched!)
One important note: This website offers friendly advice. If you have a really urgent problem, please contact a therapist or some other person qualified to deal directly with it. And if it’s a true emergency, call the police. Safety is always the most important priority.
(Second priority is treats. Just want to make that clear.)
Speaking of therapists, I do often consult with therapists. But please don’t confuse what I say with the words of an educated and trained professional. I Am A Dog!
Enough about me. Let’s go sniff around…
